About the Project

Brodly

Brodly turns bars, coworking spaces, and social venues into shared digital communities. Guests scan a venue QR code in the mobile browser — no app-store download and no full signup — then see who is there, post text or photos, discover activities, and RSVP. Venue teams get branding, zones, announcements, polls, official events, and moderation aimed at the people actually connected to their space. We delivered the product in two phases: MVP for QR entry, live rooms, posts, and admin foundations, then MVP 1.5 for discovery, events, RSVP, announcements, and polls.

The product experience

Built for the venue.Made for the moment.

A live community layer that moves guests from presence in a physical space to posts, events, RSVP, and real-world participation — without an app download.

Unpacking the architecture, innovations, and real-world results

01

A live venue room that updates in real time

People in the same space often still miss who is around or what is forming nearby. Each Brodly venue gets a chronological feed powered by Supabase Realtime. Guests post text and photos, signal what they are open to, and use interaction prompts to break the ice — so presence turns into conversation without leaving the room.

02

Home and Discover Live Activities

The home experience answers what a guest is doing today, what is happening around them, and where they can go next. Discovery surfaces Live Now, Starting Soon, Trending, Today, This Week, My Events, and venue search, so activity is findable across the network — not only inside one room.

03

Official events, community events, and RSVP

Venue teams publish Official Venue Events for endorsed programming. Guests create Community Events for informal meetups that are clearly not venue-endorsed. RSVP supports Going and Interested states with visible counts, turning discovery into a concrete plan to show up.

04

Venue communication and role-based admin

Venues publish announcements with pin, expiry, and removal controls, and run live polls with real-time results. Administration spans Super Admin for platform-wide venues and moderation, Venue Admin for branding, logo, background, and zones, and Staff Operator for scoped monitoring. AI-assisted moderation helps catch spam and inappropriate text or images before they widen in the feed.

The same product fits bars and restaurants, coworking, sports and recreation, fitness, and social venues. Code Huddle delivered the full MVP and MVP 1.5 scope: QR guest entry, realtime rooms, the activity layer, role-based admin, moderation, and PWA delivery.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about this QR-based venue community PWA and how we built it.

Brodly is a mobile-first progressive web app that creates a live digital community around a physical venue. Guests share presence, posts, events, and RSVPs inside that venue’s room, while venue teams publish official activity and moderate the space.

No. Guests scan a venue QR code and open Brodly in a mobile browser. Lightweight onboarding creates a nickname without a full signup, which keeps entry fast for first-time visitors.

Venues manage branding and zones, publish official events, send announcements, run polls, monitor live activity, and moderate posts. Platform administrators oversee venues, QR codes, accounts, and moderation across the network.
