Mile Matcher was created to solve a motivation problem rather than another data problem. Many running apps can record a route, but passive tracking alone does not always help people stay consistent. The product reframes a run as an immediate challenge: runners are matched with competitors of a similar standard, race in realtime from different locations, earn wins, improve their skill rating, unlock milestones, and gradually face stronger opponents. The experience combines accurate activity tracking with the energy of a multiplayer game.

React Native provides one mobile product across iOS and Android, backed by Node.js and Firebase infrastructure. Firestore stores runner, race, progress, and achievement data; Firebase Auth handles account access; realtime updates keep competitors synchronized; Cloud Messaging supports reminders and engagement; and GPS-based tracking supplies the distance and pace signals that make a remote race meaningful.
The experience is built around fair, understandable head-to-head races. Runners choose a distance, meet an opponent with a comparable standard, and follow live race progress through pace, distance, elapsed time, and relative position. Winning improves the runner’s rating, which gradually introduces faster competition without making the first experience intimidating.
A performance dashboard turns repeated activity into a clear personal story: total races, wins, distance, skill rating, best performances, milestones, badges, streaks, and leaderboard position. Instead of hiding motivation inside charts, Mile Matcher makes improvement legible and gives runners an immediate reason to return.
The mobile-first interface keeps the path from opening the app to starting a race short. Onboarding, runner profiles, distance selection, challenge acceptance, live race state, milestone history, settings, notifications, and account controls are organized around quick decisions that can be made before, during, or immediately after a run.
